Another Monday, another Menu Plan. Another day of hoping I actually stick to it.

I have been very busy this weekend cooking some foods so this week things might run a little smoother. I can try right?

Monday: Lamb chops with mashed potato & vegetables

Tuesday: Spaghetti Bolognaise

Wednesday: Pot roast with roast vegetables

Thursday: Curried Sausages

Friday: Chicken casserole with rice and vegetables

Saturday: Roast chicken rolls

Sunday: Spaghetti & sauce

Last week of term here so the last week of running around like headless chooks every day of the week.

Thursday - Pasta and pasta sauce

Menu Plan Monday

Menu Plan Monday

Firstly, I need to say a big Happy Birthday to my baby brother! He’s 22 today. (P.S. Thanks for the wine yesterday - mwah!)

But onto the menu plan for this week. It’s nothing really exciting actually, but I’ll see what I can do about that as I go…

Monday - we’re out, hopefully eating some $7 roast at the local bowls club because after the $9 kids meals and $30 steak meals we had yesterday I’m feeling the need for some cheaper meals since we’re having to be out. We’re off to our first Lions meeting at a potential club. Hubby’s parents were members there before moving north and judging by the number of phone calls we had they’re looking forward to meeting us (personally I think the just want the extra membership numbers and more people so they don’t have to get up at 4am on Sunday mornings for the markets anymore….)

Tuesday - Spaghetti Bolognaise. Which I’m going to attempt in the slow cooker. And doing a double batch. I think if I brown the mince in the frypan and then dump everything into the slow cooker it’ll work out all right, but this is an experiment. Even so I plan on doing a double batch.

Wednesday - I’m out at a meeting again, so planning some sort of chicken casserole in the slow cooker. I can definitely see the slow cooker living on the bench this winter.

Thursday - Lasagne using the other half of the slow cooked bolognaise sauce from Tuesday. I have thought about putting it in the slow cooker (the lasagne recipe I use is actually a slow cooker lasagne recipe) but I think if I just assemble before soccer training and throw in the oven when we get home we should be able to eat by 6 :30 which isn’t too late.

Friday - Bangers and Mash. The last thing I feel like doing on Friday is cooking, but something this easy could work. I’ll let you know if it actually gets cooked.

Saturday - Steak and veg. Or possible a pasta bake of somekind.

Sunday -Toasted Sandwiches

Menu Plan Monday

Haha! I made it on Monday, even if only just!

Although I did just write 2008 on the date in the title. I know, I’m so behind the times. Sometimes I still write 2003, which is pretty much when time seemed to stop for me, when M&M was born.

Anyway, onto the menu plan for this week - again, Sunday to Sunday.

Sunday - Meatloaf

Monday - Chicken Filo

Tuesday - Lamb Cutlets

Wednesday - Chicken Schnitzels

Thursday - Sausage Sizzle

Friday - Chicken Caserole - of some description. I may be concocting

Saturday - Roast Chicken.

So there you have it - this week’s menu, delivered on time, but no guarantee it’s on budget. Head over to Organizing Junkie to see heaps more menu’s.

Menu Plan … uh … for the week

Menu Plan Monday

I’m slack, I know.

I started this post on Sunday night, in case you were wondering.

I wish I could say I was studying. But I wasn’t.

I am now.

Well, clearly not right now but in a general “I’ve actually started the assignment that’s due in 9 days” now.

But our menu for this week. Well, it started on Sunday. And as this Sunday is likely to be a birthday dinner for my step-mother, I haven’t planned anything for that night. Yet.

Sunday - Spaghetti Bolognaise

Monday - Lamb curry (in the slow cooker)

Tuesday - Turkey Meatloaf (bargain buy at $4 and no preparation)

Wednesday - Lasagne (using bolognaise sauce from Sunday - took me 5 minutes to throw together which was lovely)

Thursday - Haystacks

Friday - Butter Chicken

Saturday - Roast Chicken & Vegetables. Or Sausage sizzle. Depends how I feel.

And now I’m going to get back to procrastinating studying.

Menu Plan Monday

Since we’re moving out of here in less than 3 weeks, I am on a mission to empty the freezer, and whatever is left will be passed on to neighbours and family.

Meals may be somewhat boring or alternatively creative as I also try to empty the pantry while at the same time feeding the children something they will eat.

Monday: Chicken pieces - with some varient of sauce that I find in the pantry, served with pasta and vegetables

Tuesday: Dinner out for a meeting

Wednesday: Sausage Casserole

Thursday: Roast Chicken - done in the slowcooker with roast vegetables

Friday: Fish & Chips (from the freezer)

Saturday: Sausage sizzle

Sunday: Meatloaf - served with mashed potato & vegetables

Judging by the food in my freezer I anticipate repeating this menu plan next week. What’s on your menu plan this week? Do you have a menu plan? If not, check out myHow to Menu Plan post and then head over to Orgnaizing Junkie and post your menu and see what everyone else is eating this week.

I know I’ve been very scarce of late, and my two volunteers for interview questions are patiently waiting for them, but there is lots going on around the place at the moment.

I won’t say anything yet, but stay tuned for some big news.

As for the menu this week, it’s full of red meat to try and boost my iron - exhaustion has been my worst enemy of late.

Monday - out at a meeting

Tuesday - Lasagne & salad

Wednesday - Sausage Casserole

Thursday - Rissoles, pasta & vegetables

Friday - BBQ - Steak, Snags, Salad

Saturday - Fish & Chips

Sunday - Toasted Sandwiches

Menu Plan Monday - 26th January 2008

First things first - it’s Australia Day

So I need to “fly the flag” so to speak.

The menu this will will have a distinctly Australian flavour. And Australian’s are nothing if not lazy.

Monday: Meatloaf - the second of the ones I made last time.

Tuesday: Haystacks. Ok, so I don’t know if it’s particularly Australian, but it’s cheap and yummy. That’s all I need.

Wednesday: Out for dinner. The other Great Australian Tradition - having someone else cook for you.

Thursday: Sausage Casserole

Friday: Fish and Chips. Friday night fish and chips is about as Australian as you can get. Especially down at a beach, feeding the seagulls or watching the kids build sandcastles or play on the playground.

Saturday: Roast Chicken.

Sunday: BBQ Rissoles. Probably some sausages for the kids served with bread (for the kids) and salad for the big people. Served out the back by the barbie (not the blonde stick doll either) and downed with a bottle (or two) of beer. My idea of heaven.

It’s also “back to school” week here in Queensland, or, as it is for us, starting school week (otherwise known as  “oh my goodness, my baby is growing up and it’s all too much and I need to remember to put tissues in my handbag when I take her in for her first day and then spend the rest of the day a blubbering mess and get there 20 minutes early to pick her up” week. Hency the easy meals this week - I doubt I’ll be in any condition to cook much in the after school rush.

Menu Plan Monday - 19 January 2009

Welcome back to another week of frugal menu planning. After last week’s quieries about the fried rice I had Hubby put a little something together for you, and you can find it here.

I raided the freezer this week, which will help keep costs down a lot. Here’s what we’re having.

Monday: Chicken pasta bake. Late last week I got coerced into buying two roast chickens at the supermarket for $3 each, so we have some chicken left over that will make a tasty pasta bake with some pasta, cheese and sauce. Easy, cheap and yum!

Tuesday: Spaghetti Bolognaise. Always a favourite and easy to boot.

Wednesday: Crumbed Chicken. I pick up the crumbed chicken in bulk lots at the butcher. 4 meals for $14. Served with potato & sweet potato mash and a selection of steamed vegetables. Yum!

Thursday: Steak & Pasta. This is one of my favourite meals. Simple and when you pick up steak for half price, cheap as well.

Friday: Fried Rice. Something nice and simple to finish of the week (more importantly something nice and simple that I don’t have to cook!

Saturday: Leftovers. I’m not sure how many leftovers there will be, but hopefully enough for dinner. Otherwise toasted sandwiches it is.

Sunday: Roast Chicken & vegetables. Last week I managed to pick up a couple of roast chickens for $4, so a quick and easy way to feed the family.
