Stress-free Travel

Now, I don’t like to name names when company’s disappoint me on here - but I do have to give thanks I decided to travel on Virgin Blue this trip to Sydney. There were some moments, I won’t lie, where I thought I should just give up traveling completely, but Virgin came through and I was home almost on time on Tuesday.

The worst part of the trip down was a problem with the in flight television, so I had to read a magazine instead. I know, it’s dreadful isn’t it?

Thursday night I hit the shops as it was almost the only time I had available. Presents for Hubby and the kids, books for me. And the wierdest thing. There’s like 4 million people in Sydney right? So I’m in the food court at this shopping centre, and I thought that maybe I should try some Indian food this time. I turn into the restaraunt and there are some old family friends. As in, my mother used to baby-sit him back in the 50’s! We had a lovely dinner catching up as well.

Friday & Saturday were stuck inside most of the day doing the subject on Torts. I really enjoy torts and can see myself potentially going down that path with my electives. I was also encouraged by the fact I got 8/10 on the first assignment. Well, not the fact that I got 8/10, but the fact that was the highest mark and I was the only person to get it. Now, of course, the presure is on to repeat it in the second assignment.

Friday and Saturday nights were reading in my room at the hotel. 8 hours of tutorials really take it out of me, so it was lovely to come back to fresh sheets and a hot bath to wind down.

Sunday and Monday were criminal law, which is, well, not so great. I decided after last time to take my assignment and work on that during tutorial time. I did pay attention, but the presentation and organisation isn’t fantastic, so I don’t know how much it was really worth. On the up side I have done most of the research and started writing my assignment. Which is good because it’s due in a week!

Sunday night I actually went to the movies! And it wasn’t 4 months old. I saw Taken, with Liam Neeson, which was fantastic.

Monday night we went to the pub to celebrate the end of the on-campus work. We were there from about 2:30pm til 8:30pm, which gave me plenty of time to get to sleep early and not rush to get to the airport Tuesday.

Virgin was about half an hour late leaving Sydney, which is concerning when I had a 35 minute connection in Brisbane, but due to the fact there’s one flight a day up here, they held the plane for the 10 or so of us on this flight and so we were only a few minutes late leaving Brisbane, and finally 15 minutes late landing. Still, you know what? I’d much rather that than the drama’s I went through in April, don’t you think?

Well, I think that little delay sounds tolerable. The torts, however… I couldn’t do it. Definitely just flaky Arts for me. :)

how strange - I have a friend who just spent the weekend in Sydney doing some legal studies too! What a coincidence.

Glad you had good enough flights!
