We have managed to avoid the camping thing so far with our kids. I am a bit open, but my wife is not so keen without a caravan type arrangement. Tents are out except for in the back garden.

Good luck. I always struggled to sleep on hard ground.

Not me. I prefer my home comforts. Heater, kettle, computer, hot showers. camping is definitely not for me. Have fun though. The kids are going to love vast expanses of sand to run around on.
