Because Red Goes Faster

Have you ever coveted something completely impractical, overpriced, and completely unnecessary? Have you ever got it?

There’s a new member of our family this week. While not technically part of my Mother’s Day gifts, her arrival in the lead up to Mother’s Day is enough for me to lump her in.

Isn’t she beautiful? (as an aside, you won’t believe how many photo’s I had to take to get a good one). I’ve been coveting one for years now, I had put the money aside. And my biggest problem was what colour to get. In the end I decided it had to be red, because red goes faster.

I <3 my Kitchenaid for sooo many reasons. The red really does go faster (honest)*. And it looks so pretty and shiny on my kitchen bench. Where it will stay. For all eternity.

My biggest problem now is to find something to cook in it. So far I’ve whipped cream. I’m thinking I’ll make some cookies today. Or a pudding. Or maybe some bread. Because my red wonder does them all. So now I’ve bought this one, my next question is to decide which red appliance to save up for next. The blender is the cheapest…. but that coffee machine would look so good on the bench next to my lovely. My precioussss. And yes, I’ve spent ages just stroking her. Do you have a problem with that?

*I have absolutely no evidence to back up this claim

That’s it! I will never be able to speak to you again! I am SOOOOOOOO jealous!

I have covetted one of those for SO long… But I have to wait til I get an entire new kitchen to fit it in, so it may be a while.

Enjoy your new member of the family - I’ve had an ordinary white one for a couple of years now and I still love her dearly!

Red is definitely the fastest colour. What a COOL machine!! I love it. I want it. Unfortunately my kitchen bench is about the same size as a piece of A4 paper so there’d be nowhere to put it. As it is I have to shuffle the toaster and the kettle. But congratulations on acquiring such a beautiful piece of kitchenware. Get the coffee maker next because winter is coming and you can do hot chocolates for the girls as well as coffee for yourself. The blender for milkshakes and smoothies is more of a summer thing, unless you make soups which need blending to smooth them? And baby food. I used to blend home cooked veg with a little of the cooking water to feed my babies. (Blend enough to fill an ice cube tray and just thaw and heat).

Jodi - I’m sorry for making you jealous - actually, nah, I’m too in love with my girl. I may be willing to let you have a play if you want to come and visit?

Talia - oh I’d love a food processor too. Actually, I think I need the whole set. In red of course ;)

Kerrie - thanks, she is my special girl :) I can’t imagine being without her now. I’ve tried to use her everyday.

River - as always you’re spot on. Coffee machine it is. The savings have started :)

Jayne - thank you :) I keep stroking her as I walk past. It’s a sickness.

It’s MIA!!! If you look closely at the photo of the Ninja cooking on my blog you will see her!

She is fantastic. We make bread together, triple batches of cookies, doubled cake mixes… OMG she is awesome!

The best part is you can hold a conversation while mixing, my Kenwood would clear the room!

Love her and stroke her. So what are you going to call her?

i have a pink one and i love her i call her KA, i also have the pink blender. would love the coffee machine (*sigh* if they only made it in pink) but its very pricey im looking at the mokador cm on tvsn.

you will LOVE your KA. i use her all of the time and really dont know how i lived without her. DH likes the red ones too.

i brought the kitchen aid cook book at angus and robertson for $24.95.

i have made bread, cakes, cookies, pasta, bread rolls, whipped cream, made icing, beaten eggs the possibilities are endless.

DD 6 said to me not long after i got mine that she cant wait for me to die because then she can throw out my computer and printer and inherit my kitchen aid.

its great for people with kids, DD puts her filly apron on and we cook up a storm on a saturday morning (mother daughter time with a kitchen aid is great).

i also want another bowl as i find when baking bread that it would be handy to have a second when i want to make something else. i also want ALL of the accessories that go with it, i currently only have the pasta set which i got free with mine.

lastly but not least enjoy your new friend and may she assist you for many wonderful years of cooking.

    Nicole.

[...] one of the KitchenAid Mixers for ages. I know there are a few bloggers out there who want one too. Kin was very clever and saved up and bought herself a red one. It looked beautiful sitting on the bench [...]
