The Big Move - Part 1 of ?
Well, Part 1 of the move was successful. We arrived at the in-law on Friday night and everyone has settled well. I’m not coping too well with the lack of complete air conditioning, but the downstairs is so I’m spending every spare minute I can down there.
Tomorrow part 2 will start - the removalists are coming to collect our stuff for storage. I’ve been relegated to babysitter while Hubby and the in-laws do most of the packing. When I left at 2pm this afternoon things were looking really good, with just the two small outdoor sheds, garage cupboards and the last few kitchen bits and wall hangings to go. They’re all over there now pulling beds apart and wrapping paintings etc and assure me I won’t have anything to do in the morning.
So my current plan is to arrive around 7am via the service station or convenience store armed with a bag of ice and several bottles of water. Since the fridge has already been defrosted, I’ll fill the sink with ice, and stick the bottles of water in there for the removalists, crank the air conditioner and hope the place is nice and cool for them when they arrive at 8am.
I’ve also already arranged for the house phone to be diverted to the in-laws as of tomorrow, and the power will be read tomorrow week (settlement). I heard from the agent this weekend and as far as she’s aware there’s no issues at this stage. So we’re all good to go
.
And now, since this post has taken me 15 minutes already, and the kids are asleep, I’m going to finish off and run downstairs to hide in the airconditioning. Hopefully the internet will be up and running on my laptop tomorrow or Tuesday, so I’ll be able to answer all the comments I’ve got, and catch up on what everyone else is up to.

I’m looking forward to hearing the moving IN stories. I love moving in to a new place, seeing what fits where, unpacking, etc.
Good luck babe. I am thinking of you.
Smootches!
