Menu Plan Monday - 14th January 2008

mpm.jpg

I’ve been a bit slack on the old menu planning of late. Christmas, New Year, visitors and moving house will do that to your planning. Now we’re settled in the in-laws, my mother in law has asked me to make a list of foods the kids will eat. Turns out my kids are a wee bit fussy. Who’d have thunk?

Anyway, so I made a list of meals, and have done a shopping list for her. She’s happy that there’s food everyone will eat, and I feel productive making a list - even if I do get stuck doing a fair bit of cooking.

So, on the menu this week we have:

MIL tells me they eat a lot of chicken, which is good because my kids do too. And the only meat we need is 14 chicken drumsticks. Bargain.

And for those of you who may have forgotten, head over to Laura’s site to see what everyone else is eating this week. And welcome back to Menu Plan Monday at Kin’s Not-House!

Awesome, this is just the inspiration I need to get motivated! This morning I sat down to write my menu plan for the week so I could go and shop for it but I got sidetracked and now we are having pasta and sauce from a jar for dinner because I didn’t have a plan finalised. I really should get involved and post my menu plans. I am always looking for new meals and kid friendly foods!

We tend to eat a lot of chicken too. :)

Sounds like a great menu plan! I’m just now getting back into the groove after the holidays, too. Thanks for sharing.

Well now, that’s stirring the memory bank! I don’t think I’ve done a menu plan since 2006 - would’ve probably helped last year with studying full time and all. I did use my crockpot heaps (when I was organised) *sigh*. Anyway - thanks for the reminder, will start tomorrow :)

Thanks for the sausage casserole recipe. My kids love sausages, so a new way to serve them up is greatly needed in our house.

Kin, nice work with the menus….it’s enough to make a menu planner who fell off the wagon jump back on board again. I hope the floodwater has receded to make your baby dash less stressful whenever it happens. Good luck with that side of life. Lisa x

I just read your ‘About’ blurb.
How did you manage to make all those girls?? I’m envious. I tried 4 times in 5 years to make a girl, before I gave up in disgust. Now the rule is that we have girl pets. (I have to even up the genders somehow…)

No menu planning here. It’s still the holidays!

Frogdancer, I think the girls are genetic. Dad & his 2 brothers had 6 girls and 1 boy between them. Those 7 have had 8 girls and 4 boys between them.

Or, you could just blame your ex ;)
